Got a bunch of stoats (Mustela erminea) and weasels (Mustela nirvalis) in lately!. Below are prices for the services I offer:

LEAST WEASEL(Mustela nirvalis)
Pelt only (WET TAN): £20.00
Pelt only (DRY TAN): £25.00
Lifesize traditional mount (freestanding): £50.00
Lifesize traditional mount on simple base: £65.00

STOAT (Mustela erminea)
Pelt only (WET TAN): £20.00
Pelt only (DRY TAN): £25.00
Lifesize traditional mount (freestanding): £60.00
Lifesize traditional mount on simple base: £75.00

Terminology:
Wet tan: The pelt is tanned, oiled and frozen. The pelt will be shipped 'wet' (though more dry, to avoid leakage), or allowed to dry. It will not be stretched/broken, and therefore will be needed to be rehydrated and broken by the person mounting the pelt. This tan is better for taxidermy mounts.

Dry tan: This tan is fully dried, broken and sanded to a soft leather. This is more suitable for rugs, wallhangers, or to store the skin longer. It can be rehydrated for mounting at a later date, but will have little to no stretch to it.

Lifesize: This is a taxidermy mount, lifesize on a handmade taxidermy form. The client has a choice of whatever pose they would like the animal in. All animals come with standard taxidermy eyes - custom eyes are more. All taxidermy mounts are freestanding - bases are more.

Seeing that they were all killed for pest control, I am very glad that you are turning them into a work of art. I am so curious though...how in the world did you obtain them from pest control? I would absolutely love a pelt to mount. I will only buy what is (relatively speaking) humane. However, I would also like to know how you managed to receive all these beautiful creatures for free.

Hi, they send them via the post, frozen, haha :) I did not get them for free, I pay per animal.

Do you just phone pest control? I wonder if they allow this in the US.

Do you have any mountable pelts for sale in the US? Not being able to receive one of those squirrels really broke my heart. I have been laying here for the past two hours because I can't stop thinking about how badly I want to do this.

No I know a lot of them and also they sometimes but frozen animals on ebay.

I can ship anything domestic (rats, rabbits, guinea pigs) but not wild.

That's really unfortunate. I'm not interested in the rats, rabbits, or guinea pigs you sell because they were killed for reptile food. If you come across a domestic animal that has died a natural death, I would be very interested.

It is very, very rare that a domestic animal would die a natural death and be sent to a taxidermist, sorry :(

So the only one which is faced to the right is available? I am thinking about getting that too.

You are not maybe interested in a mountable opossum pelt? As a trade. I know that you are not into collection but you can work with it and that's something which is not that common here in Europe.

I would LOVE a mountable opossum pelt! Been after one a while :) And yes that one is available and I think it's already been skinned/tanned but I'll need to check. I know I did two stoats last time :) Are you interested in the skulls by the way? I have a least weasel skull, stoat skulls and a mink skull :0
